The Frankenmuth Jellystone Park has recently opened for the 2020 camping season, and as the recent public health concern surrounding the Coronavirus (COVID-19) grows we wanted to update our guests with information and precautions we are taking.
We have a strong, structured cleaning regimen for the campground and our facilities are cleaned regularly with approved disinfectants. With the recent outbreak of COVID-19 there will be increased cleaning and sanitizing of surfaces more frequently. We are reviewing additional efforts and are prepared to implement them if, and when needed.
According to the CDC website (https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/php/water.html) there is no evidence that COVID-19 can be spread to humans through the use of pools and hot tubs. Proper operation, maintenance, and disinfection (e.g., with chlorine and bromine) of pools and hot tubs should remove or inactivate the virus that causes COVID-19.
We are encouraging all staff members to take precautionary health measures, and encouraging any staff who are exhibiting flu-like symptoms to stay home.
We will continue with updates as more information becomes available or if any other actions are necessary in this continually changing health emergency.
